RITUALS OF MUNJIAD

  1. Congregation begins with Magrib prayer.
  2. Followed by recital 33 ayat from various surah as recited by RasulAllah followed by 2 rakaat of sunat prayer.
  3. Perform 2 rakaat Solat Hajat(wishes) where the Imam will recite surah Al Fatihah and Yassin in first rakaat and followed by Al Fatihah and suraht Al Mulk. The last sujud where members whisper in their heart their group and individual wishes then follow Imam with Salam.
  4. While sitted in Saf facing Baitullah begin Quran recitation of RasulAllah 5 favourite surah.
  5. Start with Al Sajadah( with prostration) , AL Dhukan, Al Waqiah, AL Asyr and Al Insan followed by Doa.
  6. Perform Solat Jamaah Isya followed with 2 rakaat of Optional prayer(Sunat)
  7. The congregation will then form a circle and recite Surah Al-kahfil to be followed with Doa.
  8. Congregation adjourns for refreshment.

MEANING OF ASHBUL MUNJIAD

Ashbul (members) Munjiad (escape) is a group of Muslims who congregate every friday night(Thursday evening non hijri calendar) to devote to Allah and seeking forgiveness(kifarah) and muzakarah among members. Entry is voluntary and requirements simply ability to perform prayers and recite quran and truthfulness to Allah. No age limit and open to all muslimin and muslimat.
The members take turn to host the weekly event by offering space and refereshment at the end of it. They will do this 52 time a year for the rest of their life. To start a member must continuously participate for 40 weeks before they can break the weekly congregation. However, they can join, rejoin and leave the group anytime. They will choose the most senior or those that fulfill the imam conditions to be the Imam. Normally they take turn.
The philosophy behind the congregation is a minimal of 2 hours plus of devotion and concentration weekly in addition to the daily prayers in gratitude for the 1 week grace and blessing of Allah.
